Ficus Capital structured, arranged, and placed the largest single tranche public bond issue ever in Uruguay, a 15 year structured receivables financing (setting up and administrating a complex combination of different trusts) for the construction of the new world class Carrasco International Airport terminal.

Ficus Capital acted as advisor to a consortium of highly skilled international institutional investors including Advent International, the Dutch International Development Finance Bank, the German Development Bank and Morgan Stanley Alternative Investments in the purchase of the country's largest private sector bank.

Ficus Capital acted as exclusive advisor to PLUNA when it faced an existential crisis and a potential liquidation in the wake of Varig's, its majority shareholder, bankruptcy. This complicated restructuring process enabled the carrier to conceive new partners and stave of bankruptcy.

Other public and private debt issues were successfully executed and LBO financing arranged. Start up and expansion capital has been sourced for companies in the transportation, infrastructure, real estate, agribusiness, alternative energy, financial services, F&B and TMT sectors.

Numerous deals have been structured with investors-partners that have provided expansion capital and specialized knowledge for ambitious international expansion projects and investors from many different countries have invested or acquired companies through Ficus to lead them on further growth paths.
